The pier is very popular with anglers, generally speaking being in water for a couple of hours either side of high tide. Fishing from Victoria Pier provides a great opportunity for off-shore angling, without the cost of a boat trip!

Fishing permits run for 6 months (Jan 1st to June 30th and 1st July to 31st Dec). You must have your permit card with you every time you wish to fish from the pier and to benefit from special members-only offers in the Angling Centre.

Charges for a 6-month Permit:

Adult £15, Senior Citizens £10, Junior (under 16) £8

Benefits for permit holders (members):

Exclusive access to the pier neck, at the moment it is open to anglers only, not the general public.

Regular members only competitions.

Members only offers from the Pier Angling Centre.

Playing your part in the pier restoration!

The money collected from the permit fees will be ‘ring fenced’ and spent exclusively in the maintenance and gradual re-opening of more of the pier neck, so you will be able to see directly where your money is going.

The pier is open every day of the year (except Christmas day) but please note it may be necessary to close the fishing area occasionally for Health & Safety reasons in adverse weather conditions or for emergency repairs.
